The action of covering or enclosing something so it cannot escape. “Encapsulation” is a process used in crawlspaces where the entire space is encapsulated with plastic to protect against moisture, mold and other hazards. Encapsulations usually have some level of air filtration system installed along with them. Another word for this is a “clean space.”
