A covering installed on roofs to protect a building from the weather. They are normally flat, rectangular shapes laid in a pattern that overlap each other to allow for water to run down them without allowing water to get underneath. Shingles can be made from many different materials such as wood, asphalt (a mixture of sand or gravel), asbestos, ceramic and more.
