A thing that connects two things, especially mechanical components. In HVAC, a coupler connects two ducts together to make the ductwork longer. In plumbing, a coupler connects two pipes together to make the pipe longer. Also called a “connector” or “extension.”
Couplers can be made from different materials, such as rubber, sheet metal, hard plastic and more. Different materials are used for specific purposes.
