Particle board

Sheets of wood that are used in furniture, building, etc. where stronger material is not required. Particle board is made from glue and sawdust and wood shavings and sometimes has a side of it with a veneer (a thin, decorative coating of fine wood that gets applied to rough surfaces to make it smooth).

Particle board” in construction can be used as a term to describe two other kinds of particle board or as itself, as above. It is commonly confused with OSB, as OSB is “technically” a type of particle board but it is purposefully classified as not particle board here because of the way that you address OSB versus particle board in drying.

You cannot save particle board by drying it unless it is MDF or hardboard (see below).

There are a few types of particle board, the most common of which are MDF and hardboard.

MDF stands for “medium-density fiber” and is considered to be an upgrade from plywood and particle board. It is made from hardwood and softwood leftovers ground into a wood fiber and glued together.
